Raijor Dal leader and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi stated that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stating that he reframed from making any political remarks during his visit to the Sivasagar Legislative Assembly constituency.
Akhil Gogoi stated that he expected political remarks from the CM, but none were made.
Reacting to the Chief Minister’s remarks made during the distribution of seed funds under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA), Gogoi said he had expected a political statement but none was delivered.
“I was waiting for him to say something political, but he did not,” Gogoi said.
Gogoi also claimed the Chief Minister failed to provide clear updates on several development promises in Sivasagar.

Gogoi also noted that the Chief Minister refrained from making any negative comments about him. “Since he did not say anything against me, I am happy about it and have nothing further to say,” he added.
The Raijor Dal leader then exuded confidence that his party would contest and win the Sivasagar seat. He described Sivasagar as an important centre of Assamese identity and said he was proud to represent the constituency.
He then took a jab at CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and alleged that the Chief Minister wins elections from Jalukbari with the support of non-local voters and challenged him to contest from Sivasagar.
“You often speak about indigenous people. Come and contest from Sivasagar,” Gogoi said.
Speaking on welfare schemes, Gogoi said that Raijor Dal would enhance financial assistance if voted to power, adding that the Orunodoi benefit would be increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000.
