Agartala: The Tripura government will leverage cutting-edge technology, including AI-powered control rooms, drone surveillance, smart CCTVs, and modernized systems at district and state levels to strengthen the police force and enhance law and order.

Addressing the Police Week Parade-2025 on Thursday at the Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Police Parade Ground in AD Nagar, Agartala, Chief Minister Manik Saha said that his government is working for the welfare of the people as well as the police.

“Law and order is one of the priority sectors of our government. The status of a state is judged based on its law and order,” he said.

Saha said that a new police headquarters is being set up, and plans are underway to modernise the state’s two main police stations — East Agartala and West Agartala Police Stations.

CM Saha said, “Tripura Police is a pride for us. Last year, they celebrated 150 years of Tripura Police, one of the oldest forces in the country.”

He also expressed gratitude to banks that extended help to the families of martyred police personnel.

Highlighting the state’s achievements in maintaining law and order, Saha shared that crime in Tripura dropped by 19.3% in 2024 compared to the previous year, marking the lowest crime rate in a decade.

He informed that Tripura Police and Tripura State Rifles have organized over 25,000 social work initiatives in the last three years, benefiting more than 5 lakh people.

The government has also increased ration allowances, DA, and uniform allowances.

“During my meeting with PM Narendra Modi, he emphasized the reconstruction of old police stations and residential quarters,” Saha added.
