Kohima: Inspector General of Assam Rifles, Major General Manish Kumar, on Friday carried out a review of the force’s operational readiness in Tuensang district of Nagaland, focusing on security preparedness and field deployment.
According to an Assam Rifles statement, the senior officer interacted with troops stationed in the district and assessed their preparedness to secure the country’s eastern frontier.
He commended the personnel for their sustained efforts in countering activities of insurgent groups and in ensuring the safety of the local population.
Major General Kumar urged the troops to remain alert and maintain high standards of professionalism, motivation and discipline while dealing with security challenges in the region.

As part of his visit, the Inspector General also called on Bethel Children Home in Tuensang, where he met the children and distributed study materials.
He further highlighted the Assam Rifles’ civic action programmes, noting that initiatives such as health camps, educational outreach and infrastructure development play a key role in fostering peace, development and trust between the force and local communities.
