Shillong: The second luxury hotel of Meghalaya, the Courtyard by Marriott is all set for inauguration.
The erstwhile Crowborough Hotel, which was left ‘abandoned’ for 36 years, was inaugurated on September 26 as Taj Vivanta, Meghalaya.
Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Sunday visited the Courtyard by Marriott, located at Jail Road in downtown Shillong.
The Courtyard by Marriott has come up in the campus of the Shillong Municipal Board.
“I came today to have a walk through at the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel. The entire infrastructure is just amazing, and I am really impressed. The hotel has come up really excellent,” Sangma said.
The chief minister said the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel will raise the standards of the hospitality sector not only in Shillong, but for the entire Northeast India. He said it is the largest hotel of the region, and will have highest number of rooms.
“We are hopeful that we will be able to inaugurate the hotel very soon. Only few paper works and few formalities are left,” Sangma said.
