Comprehensive book on General Studies for UPSC Civil Servant aspirants released in Guwahati

Guwahati: If you are an IAS or IPS aspirant, don’t forget to read this book — a comprehensive book on General Studies.

Keeping in mind the latest trend in the question pattern, a comprehensive book on General Studies for the aspiring candidates of Civil Service Preliminary Examiniations was released on Sunday in Guwahati.

Job and Career Newspaper Group, a leading publishing house of Northeast India, brought out this guidebook for the Civil Services aspirants. The 808 page book is ISBN bar-coded and priced at Rs.1,200.

There are 12-year previous years’ question papers which have fully been solved incorporating explanatory notes for every question.

Special coverage has been given to the relevant subjects like Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, Decision Making and Problem Solving, General Mental Ability, Aptitude and Basic Numeracy for the GS Paper-II.

The GS Paper-II is the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). The book has important study materials on GS Paper-I as well.

The sequence of key contents include — address by President of India Droupadi Murmu at LBSNAA, Mussoorie, detailed syllabus, FAQs on Civil Service Exams,  Solved Papers of GS Paper-I (solution and notes) from 2011 to 2022, Solved Papers of CSAT or GS Paper-II (solution and notes) from 2011 to 2022.

Bithika Dey, managing director, Job and Career Newspaper Group, said, “Efforts have been made to cover detailed syllabus, toppers’ talk, study kit, solved papers, current affairs, etc. in this book. The key objective is to popularise the exam here so that young talents can participate in the toughest exam in a big way.”

The book is compiled by a team of professional academicians of the Creative Academy (a registered society under SR Act 1860) and edited by Amar Krishna Paul, a Guwahati-based author and analyst on current affairs. The associate editor of the book is Nabajyoti Saikia, a former IIS official.

The book will be highly useful for all competitive examinations like the Combined Competitive Examinations being conducted by various State Public Service Commission of Northeastern region and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
