Shillong: Meghalaya government on Wednesday signed a MoU with Apollo Telehealth Networking Foundation for the 1st Cancer Care Project in Meghalaya.
The Meghalaya government decided to join hands with Apollo Telehealth Networking Foundation as Cancer is a key health concern in the state and combating it requires strong cooperation across entire health sector.
The MoU was signed in presence of Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma and Health minister James K Sangma.
Senior official of the World Economic Forum, J. Satyanarayana and Dr. Premanand of Apollo Telehealth Networking Foundation were also present during the signing of the MoU.
The agreement with Apollo Telehealth Networking Foundation will strengthen and improve the capacity for early diagnosis through awareness and mass screening, health minister James K Sangma said.
“This is a moment of pride for us as this initiative is the first ever in India,” the health minister said.
