Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested for a second time in New Orleans, with authorities adding an additional misdemeanor charge of simple battery linked to his earlier detention during Mardi Gras celebrations in February.
According to reports by People, the new charge is connected to LaBeouf’s initial arrest on February 17, when he was taken into custody following an alleged altercation during Mardi Gras festivities.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Royal Street Inn & R Bar.
LaBeouf voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Saturday ahead of a bail hearing.
As reported by The Guardian, he posted a bond of $5,000 and was subsequently released from police custody.
Neither the actor’s legal team nor the New Orleans Police Department immediately responded to requests for comment.
Police documents from the February arrest allege that one of the complainants was struck in the face with a closed fist, causing a possible nose dislocation, and that the individual allegedly pushed it back into place himself.

The report also states that LaBeouf used a homophobic slur during the incident.
Following the initial arrest, the actor was ordered by the court to enrol in substance abuse treatment, undergo regular drug testing and post a $100,000 bond as part of his release conditions.
In a separate development, LaBeouf addressed the incident in a recent interview with Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, recorded before his latest arrest.
While acknowledging responsibility for his actions, he said he did not believe rehabilitation was the solution for him, stating that he needed to take personal responsibility for his behaviour rather than return to rehab.
The case adds to a series of legal and personal challenges faced by the actor in recent years.
