Guwahati: Bollywood actress Hema Malini may attend the Raas celebration this year at the holy Hari Mandir of Nalbari in Lower Assam.
Nagen Das, secretary of the temple management committee said the Bollywood actress, who is also a sitting BJP MP, may attend the Raas celebrations this year in Nalbari.
Raas celebrations at Hari Mandir in Nalbari has been one of the largest religious congregations in Lower Assam, and is being celebrated since 1933. And, this will be the 89th celebration of this annual festival.
In addition to local artists, guest artists from other states, including Gujarat, will also come and perform during the Raas festival at the Hari Mandir complex.
This year, the Raas celebrations at the Hari Mandir complex will start on November 7. It will be a 13-day mega event with a variety of events on the cards. The organizers have drafted a budget of Rs 80 lakh for the celebrations.
Nagen Das this year’s Raas celebration will be one of the most spectacular celebrations in Northeast India. Apart from the regular presentation of the life of Lord Krishna and the stories from the Mahabharata using idols, there will be several other cultural presentations.
The management of Hari Mandir is taking all necessary steps to make Raas celebration safe and hassle-free for all visitors and participants.
The organization, along with the district administration, aims to deploy around 2,000 volunteers for the smooth conduct of all the events.
Closed Circuit cameras and necessary communication networks will also be in place during these days of this celebration.
