Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) has launched a new Rail Coach Restaurant at the Uzan Bazar riverfront in Guwahati, opposite Jahaj Ghat (Alfresco Grand).
The restaurant, which opened on December 2, aims to offer passengers and the general public a unique dining experience by blending rail heritage with culinary delights.
The event was attended by NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava as the chief guest, alongside senior officials from NFR’s headquarters and Lumding Division.
This initiative aligns with NF Railway’s goal of repurposing decommissioned coaches by transforming them into charming railway-themed restaurants.
Along with the newly inaugurated coach restaurant, a total of 17 such establishments are operational across numerous locations and significant railway stations under the purview of NF Railway.
These restaurants have become popular for their unique ambiance and excellent service.
The restaurant offers an array of gourmet delights, with menu featuring a variety of food, snacks and beverages, providing visitors with delightful meal options.
It is accessible to all, including rail passengers, nearby residents and tourists, making it an inclusive dining destination.
