The Indian Army on Friday began the Agniveer Recruitment Rally at the Bhogeshwar Sports Complex (Jaswant Stadium) in Missamari Cantonment, drawing an enthusiastic turnout of aspiring candidates from across Lower and Western Assam.
The rally, being conducted under the aegis of the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Narangi, will continue from February 7 to 15 and covers candidates from 15 districts of the region.
The first day of the rally witnessed high energy and disciplined participation as candidates from Baksa and Chirang districts reported to the venue as per the scheduled programme.
Phase 2 of the recruitment process included the 1.6-km run, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), documentation and medical examinations, with aspirants displaying strong stamina, determination and motivation during the physically demanding assessments.
Brig Vivek Arya, Commander of the 71 Artillery Brigade, lauded the enthusiasm of the candidates, saying the response reflected the spirit of service and commitment among the youth.

He said the rally underscored the Indian Army’s focus on discipline, equal opportunity and national service.
Army officials said the recruitment process is being conducted with strict adherence to transparency, fairness and safety protocols, and will continue over the coming days for candidates from all 15 districts under ARO Narangi.
The ongoing rally, officials added, reflects the Indian Army’s sustained efforts to strengthen its human resource base by inducting capable, disciplined and motivated youth, while promoting diversity and equality in service to the nation.
