Guwahati: Rosmita Hojai, who hails from Assam’s Dima Hasao, has been reportedly missing since June 5 in Delhi.
She was last seen heading to her Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examination and has not been in contact with her family since.
Rosmita, who completed her engineering studies in Haryana, was currently preparing for the APSC exam in Guwahati.
According to her family, she left for Delhi on June 4 to appear for the RRB examination on June 5. On the evening of June 5, she contacted her mother, saying she was returning by train.
Rosmita’s mother, however, expressed deep concern, noting that her daughter had never lied to her before and found her statement about returning by train unusual. She feared Rosmita might have been coerced into making such a claim.
According to information, two individuals who were last seen with Rosmita after the examination reported to Shivpuri Police Station in Uttarakhand, claiming she had been swept away in a river.
The family was informed of this development only on Saturday by the Haflong police.
Meanwhile, her relatives had already left for Uttarakhand to follow up on the lead and search for any possible clues.
Her exact whereabouts remain unknown, and no official confirmation has been provided regarding the river incident.
