An 18-member tourist group from Assam’s Duliajan has been reportedly stranded in Dubai following the cancellation of flights amid escalating conflicts due to the joint Israeli and US war on Iran.
As per reports, the group was scheduled to return to India on March 3. However, authorities in Dubai reportedly cancelled flights in view of the security situation, leaving the Indian tourists unable to travel as planned.
According to members of the group, they were visiting the iconic Burj Khalifa just a day before the reported attack occurred.
The tourists said that heightened security measures due to the ongoing situation have disrupted flight operations.
Reports said that the stranded Assam tourists include notable figures such as educationist Mrinali Bhuyan Bordoloi, former Oil India Limited engineer Dilip Bordoloi, businessman Chaitanya Dutta, and former Oil workers’ leader Upendra Dutta, along with several other residents of Duliajan.

Air travel across the Gulf has plunged into chaos after a wave of missile and drone attacks linked to Iran forced major airlines to suspend operations, leaving tens of thousands of passengers stranded in regional hubs such as Dubai and Doha.
Emirates is preparing to move stranded travellers out of the region. The disruption is being described as the most severe aviation crisis in the Gulf since the Covid-19 pandemic.
