UAE enforces precautionary measures for residents amid escalating regional conflicts

Authorities across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have rolled out a series of precautionary measures to safeguard residents, employees, and tourists in light of recent regional developments, reports said.

In the early hours of March 1, the Ministry of Interior issued a nationwide emergency alert in both Arabic and English. Residents and visitors were instructed to seek immediate shelter in the nearest secure building and to stay away from windows, doors, and open areas while awaiting further instructions.

The ministry said public safety and security remain a top priority, adding that it will keep the public informed of any developments and the necessary measures to be followed when required.

Authorities have also called for the temporary suspension of operations at major landmarks, recommendations for remote working within the private sector, and adjustments to operations in prominent business hubs.

Officials have urged the public to depend only on verified government sources for updates and instructions as the situation evolves.

Qatari authorities have reported that air defence systems successfully intercepted multiple incoming missiles and drones in response to Iran’s strikes, with no significant damage or civilian casualties recorded in residential areas, according to official briefings.

Addressing the workforce in light of these safety concerns, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has advised private sector firms to adopt remote working where feasible and to “limit employee presence in open areas.”

The emergency alert came amid growing regional hostility after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets triggered retaliatory missile launches from Tehran toward Gulf states. Iranian missiles, most of which were intercepted by UAE air-defence systems, prompted authorities to activate precautionary measures to protect civilians as defensive operations unfolded over Emirati territory.
