Pasighat: Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday flagged off Explore Beyond, a women biking expedition at Pasighat, the headquarters of East Siang district.
The all-women bike expedition is aimed at promotion of Arunachal Pradesh’s natural beauty and its rich culture to people across India and the world.
“I am always proud of #NariShakti, and so happy to flag off Explore Beyond women biking expedition today at Pasighat,” Khandu said.
Local MLAs Kaling Moyong, Ninong Ering and director of Tourism Abu Tayeng were also present at the flagging-off ceremony of the women bike expedition.
Khandu said his government wants people to know more about Arunachal Pradesh and would like to welcome them to experience the enchanting beauty, culture, cuisine and adventure the state offers.
“Through the bike expedition, we will project our state’s natural beauty and its rich culture to the whole country and the world,” the chief minister said.
After flagging off the women bike expedition, Pema Khandu tweeted, “It is a moment of pride for us not only to be able to open two new tourism terrains but also promote #women empowerment and safety for solo travellers within the state. We’ll boost tourism and put #Arunachal on the world’s tourism map.”
