Guwahati/Itanagar: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, while addressing the Arunachal Pradesh Legislators Prashikshan Shivir in Guwahati, highlighted the remarkable transformation underway in Arunachal Pradesh and the broader North East under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He described the region as steadily advancing toward the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Commending the energy and dedication of the state’s legislators, Scindia referred to them as “the strong pillars of nation-building” and emphasised that the training camp was more than a routine exercise—it was “an ideological awakening rooted in innovation, service, and national interest.”
He echoed Modi’s firm stance on national security, declaring, “Today, India gives a clear message—bullets will be answered with shells.”
Citing the recent ‘Operation Sindoor’, Scindia described it as a powerful testament to the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism, stating, “Those who dared to tarnish the dignity of our women were decisively dealt with.”
Scindia outlined the substantial development milestones achieved in Arunachal Pradesh under the combined leadership of Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
The state now features over 4,285 kms of highways, railway connectivity to Itanagar, and four operational airports, all developed during Scindia’s tenure as Civil Aviation Minister.
He noted that the eight North Eastern states are currently growing at a GDP rate of 12–13%, significantly higher than the national average.
Underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive development, Scindia spoke about a range of initiatives aimed at empowering women, expanding digital services, and strengthening grassroots governance—efforts reinforced by key lessons from the COVID-19 era.
Celebrating India’s economic ascent, Scindia pointed out that the country has recently overtaken Japan to become the world’s fourth-largest economy.
“This is truly the era of Bharat,” he said, adding that India’s global rise is not just economic but also spiritual, as it shares its civilizational values of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ with the world.
He also reflected on the historical and strategic significance of the North East, describing it as an ancient trade gateway with longstanding links to Mesopotamia, Indonesia, and Europe. “Thousands of years ago, India contributed 25% of the global GDP. Today, we are reclaiming that stature,” he remarked.
Scindia went on to announce that the Rising North East Investment Summit will take place on May 23–24 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.

Concluding his address, Scindia affirmed that Arunachal Pradesh is playing a pivotal role in India’s developmental journey.
“With strong leadership and the BJP’s unwavering commitment to service and innovation, the state is soaring toward the vision of a self-reliant, developed India,” he said.
