In a remarkable display of commitment to spiritual pursuits, a prominent businessman family from Gujarat has stunned many by donating their entire lifetime earnings of Rs 200 crore.

Bhavesh Bhai Bhandari, a resident of Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha district, alongside his wife, has chosen to embrace a monk’s life, bidding farewell to the luxuries of material wealth.

The news of their decision has sent shockwaves across social media platforms, with posts expressing astonishment at their bold move.

In a momentous procession held in Himmatnagar, the Bhandari couple, accompanied by 35 others, pledged to embark on a life of discipline and spirituality.

The procession, stretching over approximately 4 km, witnessed Bhavesh Bhai magnanimously donating his entire wealth of 200 crores.

According to media reports, on April 22, they will formally embrace their new life of renunciation at the Himmatnagar Riverfront, marking the beginning of a profound spiritual journey.

Bhavesh Bhai, belonging to a prosperous family in Sabarkantha, enjoyed a comfortable upbringing and was actively involved in the construction business, operating in both Sabarkantha and Ahmedabad.

Known for their deep-rooted connection with the Jain community, the Bhandari family frequently interacted with monks and devotees.

Now, Bhavesh Bhai and his wife have taken a solemn vow to lead an ascetic existence, relinquishing all material possessions, including modern conveniences such as fans, air conditioners, and mobile phones.

Their decision follows in the footsteps of their children, a 16-year-old son and a 19-year-old daughter, who embraced monkhood in 2022.

Inspired by their children’s spiritual journey, Bhavesh Bhai and his wife found resonance in the path of renunciation.
