KOHIMA: In a heartwarming celebration of interstate camaraderie, the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, lauded the enduring bond between Bihar and Nagaland, highlighting the impact of Bihar’s diaspora on the socio-economic landscape of Nagaland.

Speaking at the Bihar State Foundation Day celebration held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on Saturday, Governor Ganesan underscored the symbiotic relationship between the two states, despite their geographical separation.

He highlighted the significant contributions made by Biharis to Nagaland’s development, spanning various sectors including agriculture, education, infrastructure, and commerce.

“Bihari farmers, educators, professionals, and traders have not only shared their expertise but have also adopted Nagaland as their home, dedicating their lives to its development,” remarked Governor Ganesan, highlighting the invaluable role played by the Bihari community in shaping Nagaland’s trajectory.

Governor Ganesan further highlighted the cultural exchange between Bihar and Nagaland as a catalyst for social enrichment, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s heritage.

“The celebration of such a day here at Raj Bhavan Kohima is a gesture that reinforces our commitment to national integration. As members of different states, we are diverse, but as Indians, we are one. We learn from each other, we celebrate each other, and we grow together,” affirmed Governor Ganesan.

Encouraging reflection on shared values of unity, resilience, and progress, Governor Ganesan urged attendees to recognise and honour the enduring contributions of Biharis to Nagaland’s prosperity and the strengthening of India’s collective identity.

He reiterated the central tenet of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” (One India, Great India), stressing on the need to cherish and uphold the diverse cultural mosaic that defines the nation’s unity and integrity.

The celebration featured a diverse array of cultural performances, including poetry recitations, Bihari folk songs and dances, and patriotic renditions.

Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, delivered the opening remarks, while Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kumar Ramikant, provided insights into Bihar State.

A special highlight of the event was a video presentation conveying a greeting message from the Governor of Bihar, Rajendra Vishwanatha Arlekar, further accentuating the spirit of solidarity and mutual respect between Bihar and Nagaland.
