GUWAHATI: Safety concerns arose during the Diwali release of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, as fans ignited firecrackers inside a movie theatre during the screening of his latest film, Tiger 3.
Police are currently investigating the incident that occurred at a movie theatre in Mumbai. The authorities also informed that the owner of the movie theatre has lodged an official complaint against unidentified persons following the incident.
The incident unfolded at Mohan Cinema in the Malegaon Chhavni area in Mumbai on the night of November 12 when his unruly fans reportedly set off firecrackers when Khan appeared on-screen, turning the screening into a chaotic festival atmosphere.
Videos of the incident circulating on social media show moviegoers rushing towards exits to escape the unexpected fireworks.
The cinema hall was rocked by an initial burst of crackers, followed by a second wave erupting from beneath the surrounding seats.
While some fans enthusiastically cheered and embraced the Diwali-like atmosphere inside the theatre, panic set in for others who hurriedly sought to escape the falling embers to avoid potential injury.
Immediately after the video went viral, the superstar, taking to his personal social media handle, urged fans to enjoy the movie responsibly without endangering lives.
“I’m hearing about fireworks inside theatres during Tiger 3. This is dangerous. Let’s enjoy the film without putting ourselves and others at risk. Stay safe,” the actor posted.
This is not the first instance of such incidents involving Salman Khan’s films.
In 2021, fans were seen bursting firecrackers inside cinemas during screenings of Antim: The Final Truth.
