The Northeastern state of Tripura has marked a major milestone on the national stage by delivering an exceptional performance in the Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0. The results were announced on Monday by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, under the Government of India.
Creating a unique benchmark in grassroots governance across the country, Tripura’s gram panchayats demonstrated impeccable performance under the PAI 2.0 assessment for the financial year 2023-24.
Notably, all 1,176 Gram Panchayats of the state participated in the evaluation process, achieving 100 percent data submission and verification across block, district, state, and central levels.

According to the results, Jugal Kishore Nagar Village Committee of Jampuijala RD Block, Sepahijala District, emerged as the top-performing Gram Panchayat in the entire country, securing the highest score of 88.44 among nearly 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats nationwide.
On the other hand, Dakshin Nalchar gram Panchayat achieved third place with 88.14 score and the Chesrimai Gram Panchayat secured the fourth place with 87.85.
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Manik Saha praised the achievement stating, “This success of Tripura is a reflection of a well organized, efficient and powerful panchayat system. My heartfelt congratulations to all the people involved with the Panchayat system including the representative.”
