Kohima: Nagaland has entered into a partnership with Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., with the state’s Investment and Development Authority (IDAN) signing an MoU on Tuesday to boost the health and education sectors.

The agreement aims to upgrade critical health infrastructure, widen access to medical services, and reinforce systems across both rural and urban areas.

In the education sector, the partnership will focus on strengthening infrastructure, promoting digital learning and enhancing skill development to help young people prepare for emerging opportunities.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, speaking at the signing, said healthcare and education remain central to the state’s development goals.

He noted that the collaboration with Toyota Kirloskar will help address gaps that continue to affect rural communities, particularly in infrastructure and skilling.

Rio recalled his recent visit to Toyota’s manufacturing plant and the educational institution run by the company, saying the emphasis on experiential learning and holistic growth reflects a model that can meaningfully shape future-ready students.

He added that Toyota’s initiatives for underprivileged sections underscore the value of such partnerships for long-term social progress.

The chief minister assured full cooperation from the state government for the effective and transparent execution of the projects under the MoU.

IDAN chairman Abu Mehta highlighted that the agreement was conceptualised and finalised in record time, praising Toyota for its swift response and structured implementation plan.

Sudeep Dalvi of Toyota Kirloskar said the company’s philosophy of “Child to Community Development” drives its social interventions, emphasising that empowering children leads to broader community development.

State officials expressed confidence that the collaboration would deliver lasting benefits to the people of Nagaland.
