Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the new campus of Namdapha Degree College at Namchik Charali, ahead of the ‘Cabinet Aapke Dwar’ programme at Miao.
Accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, Khandu said the new campus will significantly enhance educational infrastructure in the region, create a better learning environment, and open up greater opportunities for higher education for local youth.
The chief minister dedicated the Carpet Weaving Centre at Choephelling Tibetan Settlement in Miao.
Khandu said the centre celebrates the centuries-old tradition of Tibetan handmade carpets—each piece reflecting dedication, skill, and artistry.
He said the carpets, which have been recognised with a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, embody authenticity and regional heritage while promoting cultural artistry.
The centre, he added, will not only preserve this rich tradition but also empower local artisans, sustain livelihoods, and showcase Arunachal Pradesh’s cultural legacy to the world.

Besides, CM Khandu also dedicated the office of the Superintending Engineer, APEC-III, Miao.
“This facility will enhance project planning and execution, improve infrastructure management, and ensure that development initiatives reach the people more efficiently and effectively,” he added.
