Guwahati: Assam’s Bandita Devi Rabha was felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for securing the All-India Top Rank in Cosmetology under the 2025 ITI program at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI-West), Tura, Meghalaya.
The prestigious honour was bestowed during the 4th National Skill Convocation 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on October 3, where Prime Minister Modi personally presented awards to top-performing students from across India.
Speaking during the event, PM Modi said with a strong focus on skilling and innovation, the government is preparing the Yuva Shakti to lead the future.
“From Goalpara to Vigyan Bhawan — Bandita Devi Rabha’s journey shines as a symbol of India’s Skilling Revolution under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji ,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X.
Sarma stated, “Crowned All-India No.1 in Cosmetology at the 4th National Skill Convention, her achievement reflects the power of Skill, Scale and Speed shaping a New India. Best wishes to Bandita for embodying the spirit of #SkillIndia and inspiring countless youths to skill themselves and shape their future.”
Bandita Devi Rabha, who hails from Bamundanga in West Goalpara, completed her advanced training in Cosmetology at NSTI-West, Tura, following her initial training at ITI Dhupdhara Kothakuthi under Dudhnoi Samjila (2022–24 batch).
Her outstanding performance has brought pride not only to Meghalaya, where she trained, but also to Assam’s Goalpara district, establishing her as a symbol of youth achievement and regional excellence.

The All Rabha Students’ Union warmly congratulated Bandita Devi, praising her achievement as an inspiration for the youth of Assam and the Northeast. They highlighted her success as a shining example of how vocational training can empower young talent and pave the way for professional excellence.
