Imphal: As part of its ongoing civic action initiatives, the Assam Rifles has successfully trained and facilitated employment for 56 young men and women from Manipur’s Imphal Valley under its Skill Development Programme 4.0.
The force felicitated the successful participants at a ceremony held in Kaisampat, Imphal, on Saturday.
Of the 56 trainees, 48 — including 30 women — have already secured placements in private hotels and organisations in cities such as Mumbai, Jaipur, and Delhi.
The 12-week training programme, organised jointly by Assam Rifles and Imphal-based We Care Skill Solutions, focused on hospitality and retail management.
The initiative aimed to enhance employability and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for local youth.
During the event, participants received certificates from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) along with job offer letters from their respective employers.
Addressing the gathering, the DIG of Assam Rifles lauded the hard work and determination of the trainees, urging them to serve as “brand ambassadors” of Manipur’s culture and heritage.

He emphasised that skill development plays a transformative role in shaping the future of young people in the region.
The programme marks the fourth edition of the Skill Development initiative launched by Assam Rifles since June 2024.
According to officials, nearly 200 youths from the state have so far benefited from the project, securing dignified employment and contributing to the socio-economic uplift of Manipur.
