Guwahati: A court in Assam on Friday sent Zubeen Garg’s band members Shekharjyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta to 14 days of police remand in connection with the death of the singer-composer.
The Assam police on Thursday evening arrested both Shekharjyoti and Amritprava in connection with Garg’s death in Singapore.
Munna Prasad Gupta, the Special DGP of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), told a news agency that the local court sent the duo to 14 days of police remand.
“The interrogation of all four arrested accused is underway. I cannot share anything more at this moment,” he said.
Garg, 52, died on September 19 after he went swimming while on a yacht outing in Singapore.
The two musicians, who were arrested on Thursday, were in Singapore with Garg for the Northeast India Festival and were part of the yacht outing, during which the incident took place. Both Goswami and Mahanta had been questioned by the SIT for the last few days.
Police have also filed murder charges against singer Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta in connection with the singer’s death.

On Wednesday, Assam’s Crime Investigation Department, which is probing the case, arrested Garg’s manager and the organiser of the Northeast India Festival.
