Imphal/Churachandpur: A Manipur Police convoy came under attack by a mob in Longja village of Chandel district late on Wednesday night, officials said.
The incident left windshields of several vehicles damaged, including one belonging to the Additional Superintendent of Police, Chandel.
According to officials, a group of Kuki women stood in front of the convoy, preventing it from moving forward, before the vehicles were attacked.
The confrontation comes amid simmering tensions in the state, with several Kuki organisations alleging that the police have been acting in favour of the Meitei community.
