Shillong: The National People’s Party (NPP) on Tuesday formally inducted Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze, former Lok Sabha member from Outer Manipur, into its fold at a ceremony held at the party headquarters.
The event was attended by senior leaders including NPP National Working President James K. Sangma, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister and State President Prestone Tynsong, ministers, and legislators from Meghalaya and Manipur.
Welcoming Dr. Lorho to the party, NPP National President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said the former parliamentarian’s experience and acceptance across communities in Manipur would strengthen the party’s position in the North East.
“Dr. Lorho brings with him wisdom, experience and a strong support base from Manipur. He will be an asset as we work towards NPP’s vision of ‘One Voice, One North East,’” Sangma remarked.
The NPP chief highlighted that the party has grown to become a trusted platform for people across the region.
“Our late leader P.A. Sangma envisioned NPP as a space to voice the aspirations of the North East. Today, people from all communities are joining us, and this is a moment to celebrate as we build a united voice for the region,” he said.
