The proposed Gurukul School is expected to provide girls with a platform to strengthen their cultural identity while also nurturing their role as carriers of tradition and community values.

The Nyishi community is the largest ethnic group in the state. They are spread across eight districts of Arunachal Pradesh: Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey, East Kameng, West Kameng, Papum Pare, Keyi Panyor, parts of Lower Subansiri, Kamle, and Pakke Kessang district, and some parts of Upper Subansiri district. The Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi districts have the largest concentration of the Nyishi population.
