Indian women wrestlers have made the country proud with a remarkable performance at the U-23 Senior Asian Wrestling Championship in Vietnam, winning 10 medals and securing the Champion Trophy. The event is currently underway in Vung Tau, Vietnam.
India’s women wrestlers bagged medals in all 10 weight categories, clinching four gold, five silver, and one bronze.
The gold medalists include Priyanshi Prajapat in the 50 kg class, Reena in the 55 kg category, Shrishti in 68 kg, and Priya in the 76 kg weight class.
The silver medals were bagged by Neha Sharma in 57 kg, Pragati in 62 kg, Siksha in 65 kg, Tanvi in 59 kg and Jyoti Berwal in the 72 kg won the silver medals. Hinaben Khalifa bagged the bronze medal in the 53 Kg.

In the Greco-Roman division, Sumit added to India’s gold tally with a win in the 63 kg category. Nitesh secured a bronze in the 97 kg class, while Ankit Gulia took bronze in the 72 kg category.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing men’s freestyle events, Vicky has already clinched gold in the 97 kg category.
India is expected to win more medals in the remaining bouts scheduled on Saturday.
