Aizawl: The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, announced a reshuffling of ministerial portfolios on Monday, impacting seven key members of the cabinet.
The changes were detailed in a notification issued by Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena.
The Disaster Management and Rehabilitation portfolio, previously held by Home Minister K Sapdanga, has been transferred to Minister of State Professor Lalnilawma.
This is in addition to Lalnilawma’s existing responsibilities for the Rural Development and Administration and Public Health Engineering departments.
K Sapdanga will now oversee three significant portfolios: Home, Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, and Personnel and Administrative Reforms.
Minister of State Lalnghinglova Hmar has been assigned the Tourism portfolio, which was previously managed by Cabinet Minister Lalrinpuii. Lalrinpuii will now focus on Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare, and Women and Child Development departments.
Hmar retains his existing portfolios, including Sports and Youth Services, Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Excise and Narcotics.
The Horticulture Department, earlier under Lalnilawma, has been reassigned to Cabinet Minister C Lalsawivunga. Lalsawivunga’s responsibilities now include Horticulture alongside his existing portfolios of Art and Culture, District Council and Minority Affairs, and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary.

Following the merger of the Information and Public Relations Department with the Printing and Stationery Department, a new consolidated department named Information, Public Relations, Printing, and Stationery has been created.
This portfolio has been assigned to Cabinet Minister Vanlalhlana, who also manages School Education, Higher and Technical Education, and Information and Communication Technology.
Meanwhile, Minister of State F Rodingliana, who previously held the Printing and Stationery portfolio, will now focus on Power and Electricity and Commerce and Industries.
