Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s Kipa Mero has clinched a silver medal in the Women’s Javelin Throw F-13 category at the National Para-Athletics Championship in Chennai.
Taking to his official X handle, Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded Mero for her outstanding feat at the National Para-Athletics Championship.

Haryana won the overall (men & women) team titles (49 gold, 32 silver and 25 bronze) on the final day of the 23rd National para athletics championships at the Nehru Stadium here on Thursday.
Tamil Nadu finished second (17, 18, 12) while Uttar Pradesh (14, 17, 11) came third.
The prestigious event was held from February 17 to 20 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai.
The championship has drawn impressive 1,476 para-athletes from across India, competing in 155 events under 30 teams, making it one of the largest para-athletics gatherings in the country.
Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) President Devendra Jhajharia said, “We are confident that this championship in Chennai has set new benchmarks for para-athletic competitions in India. This tournament reflects the rapid growth and increasing competitiveness of para-sports in the country. With world-class facilities and a commitment to inclusivity, we are witnessing a new era for Indian para-athletics.”
