Barpeta (Assam): A District-Level Dissemination Workshop was held in Barpeta on Monday as part of the ongoing Good Governance Week 2024 celebrations.
The event, chaired by Thaneswar Malakar former Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, focused on assessing and advancing developmental initiatives across the district.
Malakar, attending as the chief guest, commended the efforts undertaken during the nationwide observance of Good Governance Week.
He reviewed key projects and offered insights to further strengthen governance at the grassroots level.
The workshop was attended by notable officials, including Deputy Development Commissioner Sanjeev Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioners Geetashri Lachit and Jayanta Bora, assistant commissioners, and heads of various line departments.

Representatives from five critical departments—Health, Agriculture, Veterinary, Cooperative Societies, and the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC)—delivered presentations on their governance measures.
Malakar engaged with the departmental updates, providing valuable recommendations to enhance development, particularly in rural areas of Barpeta.
A highlight of the workshop was a video presentation showcasing the District Administration’s good governance initiatives over the past two years.
The video underscored efforts to enhance service delivery, promote transparency, and improve public engagement.
Barpeta’s District Commissioner, Rohan Kr. Jha, has emphasised the importance of public grievance redressal as part of Good Governance Week.

Camps have been organized across the district to address citizen concerns efficiently and transparently.
Jha has instructed officials to ensure the highest standards of service delivery, aiming to resolve as many grievances as possible during these camps.
