Tura: The NH51 Garo Hills Fest 2024, a platform for rock bands to showcase their musical prowess, concluded with a thrilling finale at Asanang in Meghalaya‘s West Garo Hills.
The festival was a whirlwind of electrifying performances, raw energy, and fierce competition as seven bands took the stage.
Armoured Band from Assam’s Karbi Anglong emerged victorious, winning a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
Armoured Band not only won the grand prize but also swept the individual awards, taking home titles for Best Vocalist, Best Lead Guitarist, Best Bassist, and Best Drummer.
Wrath Befall from Tura claimed the second position, earning a cash prize of Rs. 30,000, while Nyctophilia, another band from Tura, secured third place and received Rs. 20,000.
The competition featured a diverse lineup of seven bands, including five from Garo Hills and two from Karbi Anglong, showcasing the musical talent of both Garo Hills and Karbi Anglong.

Representing Garo Hills were Wrath Befall, Nyctophilia, Northrock, Kimindam, and OLIMEa.
Adding to the regional flavour, Armoured and The Redeemer from Karbi Anglong further enriched the competition with their unique musical styles.
The award was presented by Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker, Thomas Sangma, who also graced the occasion as the chief guest.
