GANGTOK: Tourists planning to visit Nathula, located near the India-China border in Sikkim, will not be allowed entry on January 1, 2025, due to a special border personnel meeting scheduled for that day, according to local officials.
Officials have informed that Nathula will be temporarily closed to tourists and civilians on January 1 to facilitate the smooth conduct of the important meeting.
The meeting will take place on the Indian side of Nathula, and to ensure its uninterrupted proceedings, all movement in and around the area will be restricted for the day.

Visitors who were planning to travel to Nathula on that date are being advised to reconsider their travel plans.
However, other popular tourist spots in the region, such as Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, will remain open for tourists as usual.
The authorities have urged travellers to plan their visits accordingly to avoid any inconvenience and to ensure a pleasant experience during their stay in Sikkim.
