Tripura to set up ‘Aadi Seva Kendra’ in all tribal-dominated villages: CM Manik Saha

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has said that the state government will set up Aadi Seva Kendras as single-window service centres in each indigenous-dominated village to address the problems of tribal people.

“The indigenous communities were not given attention after Independence. No attention was given even to the northeastern region. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, he laid emphasis on the overall development of the marginalised people living in the remotest corner, because the development of the country is not otherwise possible,” Saha said while speaking at a State Level Orientation Programme under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan in Agartala.

The event was organized by the Department of Tribal Welfare at Pragya Bhavan.

Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has always given utmost priority to the development of the janajati communities, as without their development, the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’ can't be achieved.

Saha said the government aimed to appoint eight master trainers, 40 district master trainers, and 260 block master trainers under the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, which was started during the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan on July 10 to ensure that the benefits of government initiatives reach people living in remote, indigenous-dominated areas.

The chief minister said that to make the campaign successful, three groups of trained cadres—Aadi Karmayogi, Aadi Sahayogi, and Aadi Saathi—will be formed.

The state will spend Rs 81.69 crore for the welfare of the indigenous communities under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan over five years, he added.

Saha mentioned that one day a week will be set aside for complaint resolution, which will be called the ‘Seva Hour’. Besides, one ‘Seva Day’ will be observed every month.’

Regarding other initiatives for the uplift of the indigenous communities, Saha said that six Eklavya Model Residential Schools were functional, with six more expected to open in a few days. The monthly allowance of the indigenous samajpatis (community headman) has been hiked from Rs 2000 to Rs 5,000.
