Agartala: In a major step to improve the academic workforce in government-run schools, the Tripura government has approved the recruitment of 1,615 new teachers, state Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media after a cabinet meeting, Chowdhury said the hiring process will include 915 post-graduate teachers for Classes 11 and 12, and 700 graduate teachers for Classes 9 and 10.
The move aims to address a growing shortage of qualified teaching staff across the state.
“The cabinet has given the green light for filling up 915 post-graduate teaching posts and 700 graduate posts to strengthen our education system,” he said.

These include posts for professors, associate professors, and a deputy registrar.
