Agartala: In a bid to strengthen tourism infrastructure and promote Tripura’s rich cultural heritage, the state government is all set to organize a flagship cultural and tourism event titled ‘Unity Promo Fest-2025’ in Belonia.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the initiative aims to attract visitors, enhance local engagement, and showcase Tripura’s vibrant traditions.
Chowdhury on Thursday chaired a review meeting to assess preparations for the upcoming festival. He said the enthusiastic response from visitors to last year’s Tourism Promo Fest has motivated the government to expand the event to new destinations this year.
The high-level preparatory meeting was held at the Bilonia Dak Bungalow to finalize arrangements for the two-day event. The meeting was attended by Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati, MLA Pramod Reang, MLA Sapna Majumder, the Secretary and Director of Tourism, the District Magistrate, and senior officials from multiple departments.
“Just like last year, the Tourism Department is organizing the Unity Promo Fest once again — but this time, it will take place in Belonia, one of South Tripura’s most picturesque regions,” the minister said, adding that the two-day festival will also include events and promotional activities at several major tourist destinations across the state.
“The fest will not only promote tourism but also bring people from different communities together under one platform to celebrate Tripura’s unity in diversity,” he said.
