Agartala: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the first ever CII Rubber Component Expo 2025 on March 28 and 29 at the Agartala International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala.
This expo will showcase the Northeast’s crucial rubber industry, connecting leaders, manufacturers, and investors to explore new opportunities.
Tripura has emerged as the second largest rubber producer in India due to initiatives aimed at expanding rubber plantations across the state.
Rubber production has been a key driver of Tripura’s economic growth.
The CII Rubber Component Expo 2025 will showcase rubber machineries, components and technologies that would promote micro, small, medium enterprises in the state.
Entrepreneurs can leverage this platform for direct interaction and gain valuable techno-commercial knowledge, fostering investment and growth in Tripura.
Leading rubber manufacturers and component suppliers from across the country have already confirmed their participation, ensuring a high-profile gathering.
“It would also serve as a platform for attracting investment in the recently announced second Rubber Park at Santirbazar in the South Tripura district,” CII stated.
The expo will offer the rubber component manufacturers a platform to showcase their latest products, facilitating the exploration of business opportunities, it said.
The state government has extended its full support, recognizing the event’s potential to attract major rubber-based industries and international buyers.
The startups specializing in rubber-based innovations will also receive a platform to present their ideas to potential investors.
Natural rubber is the most important cash crop in Tripura. Since its introduction in 1963 by the State Forest Department, Tripura has become the 2nd largest producer of natural rubber in the country, after Kerala, accounting for about 9% of the total production of India.

According to Tripura Industries and Commerce data, the state produces 102,989 metric tons of rubber from 85,453.63 hectares of plantations, yielding 1,350 kilograms per hectare.
