Agartala: A police constable posted in West Tripura district has been suspended over allegations of bribery and misconduct, officials said on Sunday.
The constable, identified as Amir Khan Bhuiya, was suspended by the Superintendent of Police (SP), West Tripura, after receiving complaints of extortion and misuse of authority.
According to officials, the action followed a written complaint lodged by a group of residents from Fultali, Matinagar, at the Amtali Police Station, accusing Bhuiya of collecting money in the name of the SP, West Tripura.
