Agartala: Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Wednesday (September 24) to discuss the state’s ongoing tourism projects and explore avenues for further development.
Chowdhury sought the support of the central government in taking forward the work of several new projects of the Tourism Department.
“Privileged to met Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji and sought her help in taking forward the work of some new projects and ongoing activities and future plans of the Tourism Department,” Chowdhury wrote on X.
He added that the Finance Minister assured full cooperation for the development of Tripura and its tourism sector.
Chowdhury was accompanied by Tourism Secretary and the director during the meeting.
The tourism minister also had a fruitful meeting with Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi.

Chowdhury said he apprised the minister of the ongoing activities and future plans of the state’s Tourism Department and sought his support in implementing new projects with financial assistance from the DONER Ministry.
