Agartala: Tripura’s Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport has topped the Northeast and ranked 15th nationally among 62 airports in Round 1 of the Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) 2025.
The latest Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) was conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
This was announced recently during a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC), chaired by West Tripura MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
West Tripura district magistrate Vishal Kumar, Agartala municipal commissioner D K Chama and West Tripura SP Kiran Kumar were also present at the meeting.
According to MBB Airport Director K.C. Meena, the airport achieved an impressive 4.77 out of 5 in the 2025 Round 1 Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS).
“It proudly achieved the first position in the entire North Eastern Region,” KC Meena said.
Among key developments discussed, Meena highlighted the successful implementation of the Inline Baggage Handling System (ILHBS) in March.
The system has significantly improved baggage screening efficiency and passenger movement, he added.
In another traveller-friendly initiative, the airport is also set to introduce a Child Care Room, providing a clean and secure space for mothers and children.
The committee also reviewed the ongoing development of Kailashahar Airport in Unakoti district, which is expected to strengthen regional air connectivity, promote tourism, and stimulate economic growth in Tripura and the Northeast.

Commending the efforts of the AAI and MBB Airport staff, the committee emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among all stakeholders to further enhance the aviation ecosystem in Tripura.
