Agartala: The Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly will begin on March 13, as per an official notification issued on Thursday.
Following the tradition, the first session of the English calendar year will open with the Governor’s address. During this session, the state government is scheduled to present the Budget for the financial year 2026-27, sources said.
A notification regarding the commencement of the 9th session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly on March 13 was issued on Thursday by Assembly Secretary A.K. Nath on behalf of Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu.
Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming Budget Session, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy convened a high-level meeting at the state secretariat on February 18. The meeting, attended by senior officials from various departments, reviewed the progress of projects and commitments announced in last year’s Budget speech for 2025-26.

In a post on social media, the minister said the meeting was held in his office with participation from officials of various departments, focusing on the progress of initiatives announced in the 2025-26 budget.
The minister wrote, “Today, in my office at the Secretariat, a significant discussion was held with officials from various departments regarding the implementation of the decisions announced in the 2025-26 budget speech.”
Sources said that the meeting assumed significance as it aimed evaluating the real progress of schemes ahead of the upcoming budget session.
