Agartala: The Tripura government has announced a significant increase in festival allowances for its employees, providing a much-needed financial boost ahead of the festive season.
In a memorandum issued by the Department of Finance, the revised rates for the Festival Grant and Festival Advance have been outlined.
The allowance will vary based on the employee’s category. The Group C and Group D employees, Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), pensioners and priests in government-run temples will receive Rs 2,000 each.
Meanwhile, Part-Time Workers (PTWs), contractual workers, and casual workers will receive Rs 2,200.
Pensioners, Family Pensioners are included in the scheme with a festival grant of Rs 2,000. Anganwadi workers, helpers, home guards, special police officers (SPOs) will also benefit from the increased allowance.
The memorandum also mentions that workers and staff under Central Schemes will be addressed separately, with their grant specifics to be determined by the department concerned.

The memo further stated that employees could avail the amount just once in the financial year on the occasion of Durga Puja, Christmas, Garia Puja, Buddha Purnima, Ed-Uz-Zuha, Ed-Ul-Fitre, Guru Nanak’s birthday or Mahavir Jayanti.
The increase in festival allowance is expected to provide timely financial relief to government employees across various sectors, enabling them to celebrate the upcoming holidays with joy and ease.
