Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday (July 4) launched the Tripura School Quality Assessment & Accreditation Framework (TSQAAF), a new initiative designed to elevate the standard of education across the state.
This framework aims to identify educational and infrastructural shortcomings in schools, fostering ongoing institutional improvement.
The TSQAAF aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) and will serve as a tool to evaluate the overall quality of schools throughout the northeastern state.
During the launch event, Chief Minister Saha shared his vision for the future of Tripura’s education system.
“I want each school in Tripura to become a centre of excellence to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” CM Saha stated, emphasizing the long-term goal of the initiative.
“Tripura has already taken robust steps to implement the National Education Policy. The School Education Department is working tirelessly to create a healthy competitive environment, transforming each school into a center of excellence,” the chief minister said.
He further added, “Just as NAAC accredits higher education institutions based on quality standards, we’re launching the Tripura School Quality Assessment & Accreditation Framework (TSQAAF) for schools.”
Asserting that the state is spending substantial funds to develop educational infrastructure, he said the overall educational environment has improved significantly in the state.
“Tripura has already become a fully literate state, the third in the country after Mizoram and Goa. The pass percentages in Class 10 and higher secondary levels have improved this year. The Vidayajyoti schools (CBSE) did well in both the exams this year, with the pass percentages increasing by 26 and 21, respectively, compared to 2024,” he said.

Recently, the department appointed 226 graduate and undergraduate teachers. The government is trying to fill up the vacancies without compromising the quality.”
