Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to modernizing existing tourism destinations while developing new ones across the state.
As part of this initiative, CM Saha on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Tripura Heritage Village and Sangeet Experience under the Tourism Department’s Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme.
In addition, an Amusement Park will be established at Sachindranagar, Jirania.
“These projects will be developed in line with the aspirations of the people of Jirania, while generating employment opportunities and giving a strong boost to the local economy and tourism sector,” CM Saha said in a post on X.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is implementing a clear, time-bound plan to modernize existing tourist destinations while developing new tourism hubs across Tripura. He highlighted that tourism has been identified as a major driver of economic growth, employment generation, and the preservation of the state’s cultural heritage.
The Tourism Department is implementing the Tripura Heritage Village and Sangeet Experience project with the objective of showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage, traditional lifestyle, indigenous art forms, and musical legacy through an immersive experience for visitors. The proposed amusement park, inspired by the Kolkata Nicco Park model, is expected to become a major attraction for families, youths, and tourists from within and outside the state.
