Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his gratitude to King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, for establishing a prestigious gold medal in his name to recognise the achievements of outstanding students in the field of Dental Sciences.

In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Saha shared his emotional reaction to the recognition, saying, “A nostalgic moment for me. King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, my alma mater, has instituted a Gold Medal in my name for meritorious students excelling in Dental Sciences.”

He further expressed his appreciation, thanking the entire KGMU community for the honour.

Saha, a distinguished maxillofacial surgeon, is an alumnus of KGMU. Maxillofacial surgery is a specialised medical field focused on treating conditions affecting the face, neck, and jaw, a discipline in which Saha has made significant contributions.

This new initiative aims to inspire and reward academic excellence among future professionals in this vital medical specialty.

The introduction of the gold medal not only honours Saha’s legacy as a renowned medical professional but also serves to encourage and motivate students to strive for excellence in the field of dental sciences.
