Agartala: The Indian Army organized an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally at Agartala Military Station on April 12 under the aegis of Spear Corps, aimed at fostering engagement and addressing the needs of veterans and Veer Naris in Tripura.

The rally sought to update veterans on post-retirement benefits and government schemes, while resolving grievances related to documentation and pension systems in collaboration with Regimental Record Offices, the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), state agencies, and banks.

A dedicated ‘SPARSH Cell’ was established to address issues linked to the online pension management system.

The event, attended by over 1,150 veterans, including 12 Veer Naris, Veer Matas, three gallantry awardees, and battle casualties, began with a welcome address by Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps.

The rally included a felicitation ceremony for Veer Naris and veterans, honouring their sacrifices and service.

Various stalls were set up to guide participants, including the Veterans Sewa Kendra, ECHS Cell, Grievance Cell, and departments such as Fisheries, Horticulture, MSME, and Skill Development.
