Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will virtually join an offer letter distribution programme for those selected for the multi-tasking staff (Gr-D) posts in the Tripura government on February 5.
Chief Minister Manik Saha and his cabinet colleagues will also attend the event, which will be held at Swami Vivekananda ground in Agartala.
Over 2400 candidates were selected through various examinations conducted by the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT) in 2021.
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given his consent to grace the programme virtually in the presence of the chief minister and the council of ministers,” Saurav Das, undersecretary at the chief minister’s office, said in a notice.
Chief Minister Saha recently said the State Public Service Commission has announced a recruitment drive for filling up 201 posts of assistant professor for general degree colleges.
“The Tripura Public Service Commission has issued a notification seeking applications for filling up 201 posts of assistant professor for general degree colleges. Interested candidates can apply for the recruitment,” the CM wrote on Facebook sharing the notification.

Earlier, a total of 72 assistant professors were recruited for general degree colleges in 2022.
