Agartala: A team of officials of Election Commission of India reviewed Tripura’s preparedness for upcoming state assembly election, which is scheduled to be held early next year.
The ECI team had visited the poll-bound state on Tuesday and Wednesday and held meetings with election officials of the eight districts and held separate meetings with senior officials at Agartala.
Senior officials said the ECI team also reviewed security arrangements during the run up to the election.
The key issues covering electoral roll, special summary revision, EVM/VVPAT, assured minimum facilities at polling stations, manpower management and transportation were discussed in details.
The team also held a separate meeting with various enforcement agencies to ensure strict vigil, especially along the Bangladesh-border in the run-up to the elections.
Tripura goes to polls early next year along with Meghalaya and Nagaland. The ECI team is likely to visit Nagaland and Meghalaya soon.
