AGARTALA: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are expected to visit Tripura on August 27 to inaugurate the newly constructed Shanti Kali Temple.

The Shanti Kali Temple is located at Barkathal village in Mohanpur sub-division of West district in Tripura.

Former Tripura MP Rebati Tripura on Sunday stated that a review meeting was held at the temple site to discuss the inauguration process and confirmed the visit of the two chief ministers.

Tripura said, “Chittaranjan Maharaj chaired the review meeting, and we discussed the arrangements for the arrival of the Chief Ministers of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.”

The meeting was also attended by Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma and Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

He further said Chittaranjan Maharaj extended an invitation to the UP chief minister to visit Tripura during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.

“Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has already confirmed his attendance. We are awaiting the final confirmation from the UP CM Yogi Adityanath. We believe he will also attend,” he added.

The Shanti Kali temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali, is expected to become a major attraction for both locals and tourists from neighboring states. Its construction has been a source of pride for the people of Tripura, reflecting their unwavering commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the state.

The inauguration will feature traditional ceremonies and cultural performances, showcasing the rich heritage of Tripura.

The temple is poised to become a powerful symbol of unity, faith, and cultural pride for the state.
