Agartala: A total of one hundred students from various institutions across Tripura are set to embark on an educational excursion to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in April.

This visit aims to ignite their passion for applied science and space technology.

The first phase of this program, which will kick off in April, will see 13 students from the South Tripura district travelling to ISRO.

Among them, five students from the Sabroom subdivision have been selected based on their academic performance and active participation in science-related activities.

The selected students from Sabroom are Shipra Shil and Tanushree Debnath from PM Shri Sabroom Higher Secondary Girls’ School, Palash Tripura and Neela Debnath from Sabroom English Medium Higher Secondary School, and Rohan Tripura from Manu English Medium Higher Secondary School.

Notably, Shipra Sheel and Tanushree Debnath, the two students from PM Shri Sabroom Higher Secondary Girls’ School, are active members of the school’s DNA Club, where they have been engaged in various scientific projects and research activities.

Former MLA Shankar Roy congratulated the five students from Sabroom for getting the opportunity to visit ISRO.

He said, “I believe this ISRO visit will serve as a great source of motivation for students. It will encourage them to deepen their knowledge in fundamental sciences and information technology, which are crucial fields in today’s world.”

This initiative is designed to promote holistic intellectual development in students, specifically by nurturing their curiosity and engagement in the fields of science and technology.

The state government’s initiative aligns with its broader vision of making education more experiential and career-oriented.
